How do Trusts cope with moving their finance function forward when they have staff shortages, lack of skills or short/long term senior finance vacancies?

Writer: Ian BussIan Buss

I caught up with EduFin who have been providing support to Trusts since 2013 and had the chance to inteview their Director, Carina Cuddington.

Ian: Who Are EduFin?

Carina: EduFin was founded in 2013 by its four Directors to support the academy movement.  There was a sector need for high quality finance training and support for converting Schools and growing Trusts.

EduFin grew organically in its early years, to provide a Helpdesk and Hosting solution due to client demand.

In more recent years, Consultancy and Cover Solutions has expanded to meet the recruitment challenge in the sector.

We now have an amazing team of 40 EduFin Superstars (as we like to call them!) providing support to more than 200 Trusts and 1,300 Schools.

Ian: What are the biggest financial challenges facing Trusts, and how does EduFin help?

Carina: One of the greatest challenges for Trusts is balancing budgets whilst maintaining an outstanding provision.  With rising costs and increasing needs, the percentage of schools falling into deficit continues to grow.

At EduFin, we use our years of experience and expertise to provide accurate budgeting and financial monitoring; allowing Trusts clear oversight to identify areas for efficiencies.

Ian: What services do you offer?
